Carlos 'Charlie' Rey - Executive Director of Production

Charlie is one of AeroThrust’s longest tenured employees and as such has invaluable experience in nearly every facet of the MRO business.  He started working for AeroThrust as a parts mover in 1985, and was promoted to Engine Coordinator three years later.  In 1991, Charlie was promoted to Supervisor of Production Control and from there progressed to becoming Manager of Production Control and finally to Director of Production Control.  In this capacity he was instrumental in the development of AeroThrust’s proprietary production program known as ATIS as well as putting in place an engine module tracking system for the company’s intranet, both of which remain in place today.   It was also during this time that Charlie was awarded the SFMA Award for Recognition of Excellence for Production Control.

In 2005 Charlie left AeroThrust to work as Director of Production for FJ Turbine, where he helped them increase their productivity from 3 engines a month, to 7 engines a month, and brought the JT8D–200 online.  His efforts also helped to significantly reduce TAT, increase shop capacities and reduce sub-contract work.  In 2008 AeroThrust executives recognized the need to have someone onboard with the skills and abilities that Charlie possessed, and recruited him to return to the company, where he currently holds the position of Executive Director of Production.

Charlie has completed AMA classes in Management Skills & Technique, Production Planning & Scheduling, Demand Flow Technology and Stockroom Logistics.
